MEDICAL DEVICE APPLICATIONS

  • Tube Coiling and Assembly
  • Catheter and Guidewire Coating/UV Curing and Drying
  • Needle and Cannulae Loading/Assembly
  • Suture Processing and Packaging
  • Cuvette Assembly

Shown above is the front (de-reeling) and the back end (wind up) of a 40 foot long Web Laminating and Forming system. The system utilizes a tractor feed approach (sprocketed pin feed). Two layers are brought through a splice table module to an accumulation module, to a pocket forming and heat sealing module, a slitting module, cleaning module, high voltage leak detection module, reject elimination module to a final wind up module. A centralized wire way with quick disconnect allows for fast module removal and replacement with a like back up module allowing maximum uptime and twenty-four hour/seven day operation.

Kuntz has a well established record of Needle and Cannulae Handling technologies for many products type. This includes Suture Handling, Syringes and Blood Collection Devices just to name a few. Affordable intermittent motion machines and stations have been developed that can attain speeds upwards of 70 PPM one up handling multiple gauge sizes and needle lengths.

At Kuntz, we are in a constant push to keep up with the latest technological advances. Depicted is a solid modeled CAD rendition of an actual station that feeds a ribbon of adhesive backed tape or heat sealable material. Material is de-reeled, banded and cut to length around coiled medical grade tubing or any presented object in need of tie banding.

These solid models depict a Tube Coiling station utilized for high speed applications (front and top views). A quill design feature is incorporated for product gentleness and ease of set up. Up to 90 inches of PVC tubing can be coiled in less than one second. This unique design is patent pending and can be demonstrated for your review.
